Ilya Kovalchuk Suspended for 1 Game
January 24th, 2008 | Posted by Wicked in Atlanta ThrashersIlya Kovalchuk was suspended yesterday for his hit from behind on the Rangers Michael Rozsival. Ilya Kovalchuk nailed Rozsival from behind and received a 5 minute major for boarding and a game misconduct.
The hit wasn’t malicious in my opinion, and Kovalchuk claims he wasn’t trying to hurt Rozsival. Kovalchuk will serve his suspension during tonight’s game. He will be playing in the All Star Game in Atlanta on Sunday. You can see the check by Kovalchuk here.
