NHL Breaks Attendance Record for 2007-2008 Season

April 7th, 2008 | Posted by Wicked in NHL

The NHL experienced their 3rd straight year of growth as they broke the record for the highest attendance for one season in the history of the NHL.  The NHL had an average of 17,265 fans per game and a total of 21,236,255 fans this season.

A number of team saw significant increases due to better teams being out on the ice.  The St. Louis Blues, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals all saw double digit percentage growth this season.

Now all the NHL has to do is get their coverage off of NBC and god-awful Versus and back on to ESPN.  Imagine how hockey would grow if they had good coverage again.
