JS Giguere has also been traded to the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs traded for Dion Phaneuf and now Toronto traded for JS Giguere. Incredible moves by Brian Burke in an effort to improve the worst defensive team in the NHL. JS Giguere still has to approve the trade since he has a no trade clause. Now that Schneider is basically gone from the Ducks, that leaves salary cap room for Burke to sign Teemu Selanne.  Selanne who missed a good chunk of last year contemplating retirement seems like he still has some juice left in his tank and could help out the Ducks offensively this year.

Selanne already has an assist in the game, but he looks very slow early on.  As he gets more game time he will get into better shape, but whether or not he regains his scoring touch is another story.  The Ducks are hoping that Selanne does not return to the way he played when he was with the Avs.

Teemu Selanne will be playing his 1st game of the season this Tuesday at the New York Islanders.  Selanne will more than likely be playing on a line with Doug Weight and Chris Kunitz.  The biggest issue for the line will be size and strength, because Weight is a non-phyisical player, Kunitz is undersized and Selanne only hits when required.

Selanne netted 48 goals last season and helped win the Stanley Cup for the Ducks, and now that the Ducks have both Niedermayer and Selanne back, they are eying a repeat.  I for one, strongly hope that does not happen.
