The Florida Panthers have just traded Olli Jokinen to the Phoenix Coyotes for Keith Ballard, Nick Boynton and the Coyote’s 2nd round pick. The Panthers didn’t get a great return out of this trade in my opinion. Ballard may be a decent NHL defenseman, but Nick Boynton is terrible. Jokinen rumors can now be put to rest as he makes his new home in the desert playing for Wayne Gretzky.
There is an update on Richard Zednik of the Florida Panthers. Zednik was cut by Jokinen’s skate last night in a game underwent emergency surgery on his neck last night. The doctor who performed the surgery said that it was successful and Zednik is now resting comfortably. All thoughts and prayers are with the Zednik family at this time.
Richard Zednik is in stable condition after taking his teammate, Olli Jokinen’s skate to the neck during a game against Buffalo today. Zednik was bleeding very heavily, but was able to skate to the bench where he was immediately taken to the hospital.
There was a 15 minute delay in the game to clean up all the blood, but more importantly, Zednik seems to be okay. All thoughts and prayers are with Richard Zednik and his family and best wishes on a speedy recovery.
